Harland Simon's cut-down roll out
Chicago, IL 16th November 2007
A number of sites have turned to Harland Simon to complete their cut-down needs;
these include: Toronto Star, Quad City Times, Hamilton Spectator and Orange
County Register. Toronto Star completed their cut down to 48” in September;
while Quad City Times, Hamilton Spectator and Orange County Register are due
to start their cut downs within the next couple of months.
Orange County Register have gone the extra step to not only convert their
Management and Control Systems to incorporate the new web width, but have
opted to replace their existing desk tops with Harland Simon’s new P6000
desk top with continuous ink keys for variable web width and future cut
downs. This follows on from an order earlier this year to equip all master
desks with Color Proofing Monitors to stream line their color proofing and
eliminate printed color proofs for each of their six press lines.
John Staiano, Senior Vice President for Harland Simon, commented,
“Toronto Stars cut down went ahead with no interruptions to
production and ahead of schedule; allowing the engineers to leave site early.”
