vindicates Harland Simon 21st
March 2006
Following the
recent front cover article in IT WEEK (20.03.06 Vol.9 No.11)
covering the very real threat of mal-ware infections to RFID
technologies, Harland Simon’s Sales Director, Michael
Calvert stated;
“This type of threat has been discussed for some
time, however the publication of this article gives full technical
vindication of Harland Simon’s decision to support dumb
tags. We always thought that the high cost of active tags
was just one area of weakness, this threat of virus attack
is clearly another, which may be even greater”.
The article highlights the fact that a research team developed
a virus only 127 bytes in size and the enormous harm a virus
of this size could do to an exposed firm.”
