The
Register Guard – Eugene, OR selects Harland Simon PRIMA
Management Systems to interface with Mitsubishi Press Controls
August 2005
Jerry LaCamp,
Production Manager of The Register Guard – Eugene, OR
was purchasing a CTP system and needed to replace their existing
MIS because it used outdated hardware. After seeing the advantages
that PRIMA Management Systems would bring he decided to go
with Harland Simon to replace their complete system, including
the CCS system and have PRIMA MS interface directly into the
Mitsubishi Press Controls System. Jerry LaCamp commented “We
felt comfortable with the system proposed by Harland Simon, which
had several enhancements over our existing system. Those enhancements
will certainly make it easier for the press crew”.
Thus
providing production management and press operators with the
tools to optimize
production and reduce waste by providing quick and easy press
set up, for greater efficiency and capital equipment utilization;
significantly reducing copy waste at press start up and shut
down; direct management effort toward reducing waste and improving
efficiency by providing real time and reported information;
ensuring effective production planning, including maintenance
and allowing effective monitoring and control of production
and resources on a real time basis.
John
Staiano, Harland Simon Vice President of Sales, commented
“this is very exciting for Harland Simon as a whole;
this opens up additional possibilities not only in North American,
but world wide”. Staiano added “it’s
through new ventures like this; we can continue to grow and
prove ourselves to be the number one systems integrator in
the industry”.
The
commissioning is due to commence at the end of August 2005
and we expect full production, using the new system, by the
middle of September 2005.
