Overview
Fast, Optimal Impositioning
PRIMA Esprit calculates impositions in seconds. Using pre-configured
information on your press capabilities, and taking into account
currently unusable equipment, Esprit will quickly and efficiently
identify the best possible impositions to produce the product
you have defined on the selected presses.
Easy Operation
Esprit has a standard Windows interface and runs on the Windows
NT/2000 platform. For the user, the screen layouts are in
a familiar format and intuitive to use. In use, the newspaper
product specifications are quickly and easily entered with
a user-friendly product input screen.
Identifies
Opportunities to Utilize Color
Esprit will quickly show if additional color is available,
to enable it to be utilized or sold to best advantage.
User Configurable
A penalties system allows the user to superimpose
preferences on the selection of the best imposition. Using
the facility to adjust the penalties Esprit can
be told to avoid using a certain configuration or to prefer
one scenario to another. Each user and each site can tailor
Esprit to accommodate individual preferences, and suit preferred
methods of working.
Operation
Specifying a Product
Simple drop-down menus allow the user to easily and quickly
select the press, input the number of sections, specify straight/collect,
grant permission to allow cross-association, decide whether
to take account of the current imposition and specify which
set of penalties to apply.
Entering Product Specifications
Color is added to the product by clicking the color buttons
at the top of the screen. In the case of a collect run, collect
pairs of pages are automatically indicated. At this stage,
the user can specify where to fix fly sheets or disallow them
from certain pages, such as front and back. The user can also
set panoramic double-trucks and center page spreads. The product
specification can be saved for future use. Also from this
window the user can input comments for each page that will
be printed out with the imposition. For example, he may wish
to include an advertisers name or color information
for printers.
