| Introduction
The PRIMA Management System
provides the tools to -
Provide quick and easy press
set up, for greater efficiency and capital equipment utilization
Significantly reduce copy
waste at press start up and shut down
Direct management effort
toward reducing waste and improving efficiency by providing
real time and reported information
Ensure effective production
planning, including maintenance
Allow effective monitoring
and control of production and resources on a real time basis
The PRIMA MS
provides production management and press operators with the
tools to optimize production and reduce waste.
The system can
run effectively on a single PC or can be grown to a fully
integrated networked system, depending upon the requirements
of the site. The system hardware and software is extensively
supported throughout the world.
The PRIMA MS can also be integrated
with other Harland Simon systems such as Reel Tracking and
Totaliser.

User Access
Password protected for security
Each user can be granted
individual access levels for each module
The User Access
module enables a user to log on to the PRIMA MS to gain access
to the other system modules and to log off at the end of his
session. The level of access granted to the other system modules
is dependent on the user name and password entered here.

The user may also change his
password in order to maintain security.
Titles
Introduce additional newspaper
titles to the system as new products are printed
Each title can be allocated
its own production defaults
The Titles module
is the means by which new product titles and default product
types for those titles are entered into the system. These
titles and their associated defaults can then be accessed
when creating standard or production jobs.

The key fields
are size, number of sections, pages per section and web/image
width for those sites whose products are produced on different
width paper.
The ink factors shown here are
used as part of the presetting algorithm.
