Spares Support
Spare parts are available for at least 10 years after the
original supply of Harland Simon equipment and indeed usually
for many years in excess of 10 years. Where items become obsolete
we will endeavour to supply an alternative. Due to our many
and varied contacts and wide experience it is quite normal
for us to source and supply some non related Harland Simon
equipment and spares as standard practice.
Equipment
Repairs
We can carry out repairs to all equipment manufactured by
Harland Simon, and in addition, we offer to assist in effecting
repairs of non Harland Simon supplied equipment.
Card
Repair Agreement
For customers wishing to have known, fixed repair costs, we
will quote an annual fee payable in advance, for the repair
of Harland Simon cards and assemblies.
Identification
of Harland Simon Equipment
The following serial and part numbers provide a method of
identifying Harland Simon equipment in the absence of any
more definite evidence. The dates given are approximate only
as considerable overlap occurred during the Company's evolution.
Modules supplied during the period 1974 to 1981 may be marked
ASEA rather than Harland Simon.
Cubicles,
Desks and Enclosures
All Harland Simon desks, cubicles, wall boxes and other enclosures
carry a five-digit serial number in the range 10001 (1969)
to 22500 (current).
Metal-cased
Modules
Some of the modern, microprocessor-based modules are packaged
in lightweight metal enclosures and have the part number silk-screened
on the box lid. These numbers follow two series: H4893P4nnn
and H4896P4nnn where "nnn" is a three-digit
number.
Stand-alone
PCB Modules
1965 to 1974 Part numbers 11 000 to 50 000 (may be hand-written
on the PCB)
1973 to 1980 Part numbers HSD
2 000 to HSD 12 000, or HSK 2 000 to HSK 7 000
1978 to 1981 Part numbers AE
4890P1000 to AE 4890P1199
1980 onwards Part numbers H4890P1nnn
or H4890P5nnn shown on the component side silk screening.
(The actual PCB number, etched into the trackwork side of
the PCB will carry the part number H2668Mnnnn e.g.
a digital input PCB has the part number H4890P1200 and a corresponding
PCB board part number H2668M1200).
